Wind Power

E & E Electric is committed to optimizing your on-site power generation portfolio. Harvesting the power of wind can greatly increase your building's electrical generating potential. Whether it's a stand alone system or combined with solar PV, wind turbines offer a cost effective solution to rising energy costs. While traditional Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines (HAWT) are well suited for large wind farms and municipalities, Vertical Axis Wind Turbines (VAWT) work much better for individual homes and businesses. Why?

Multi-directional Wind - Due to their 360 degree wind accessibility, VAWT's are not affected by shifting, turbulent wind found in urban and residential sites.

Less Expensive - This key feature cuts cost by elliminating the need for a mechanism to rotate the turbine into the wind.

Low to the Ground - 360 degree wind accessibility also reduces the mounting height requirement associated with harvesting unidirectional winds.

Easy to Maintain - Lowering the height of the turbine also allows for quicker installation and ease of maintenance.

Quiet - VAWTs rotate at a lower speed than HAWTs (225 rpm versus 900 rpm). This greatly reduces noise and vibration levels, making them ideal in residential neighborhoods.

Aesthetics - VAWTs smaller shape and profile offer significant aesthethic appeal.
